The IFPI, the global trade group of the music industry, has released their 2012 Digital Music Report. According to their findings, worldwide digital music sales grew 8% in 2011, to an estimated $5.2B, with digital channels now accounting for ~32% of record company revenues globally. Some additional findings below:

· Estimated global paying subscribers to music subscription services: 8.2M

· Digital album volume sales growth in 2011 (U.S.): 19%

· The top selling single of 2011 globally was Bruno Mars’ Just The Way You Are, selling over 12.5M copies
