Interviewing 16,000 digital consumers from 16 countries, consulting firm Capgemini has released a new study entitled “Digital Shopper Relevancy”. Press release here, full report here, some notes below.
· 51% of respondents said in the next 8 years they expect brick and mortar stores to be showrooms for selecting and ordering products.
· 56% said they were likely to spend more money at a physical store if they had used digital channels to research ahead of the purchase.
· 73% expect online prices to be lower than those in physical stores.
· Over 50% said most retailers are inconsistent in the way they present themselves across online, social media, mobile and physical stores.
