For the first time in 5-years, American Idol is no longer the most costly TV show to advertise on. With the average cost of a 30-second spot on Wednesday Idol falling to $341k, NBC’s Sunday Night Football now owns the top box, pulling in $545k on average, up from $512k last year. Additionally, when looking at the mythical 18-to-49 audience, Ad Age estimates the big 4 (CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC) are all down through the first 3-weeks of the season, -19%,- 12%, -24% and -15% , respectively.
