We talk a lot about search, but what about the clicking? Where do those searches lead? According to new research from Experian, 5 websites (Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo, Wikipedia and Amazon) captured 20% of all organic search activity in Q4 2012. The top 500 sites captured 50%, and the top 1,000, 75%. It’s staggering of think that 75% of search traffic went to only 1,000 websites (out of ~650M). On the paid side, it’s pretty much the same. The top 10 websites captured 16% of paid search clicks, and the top 500 captured 56%.
