How do we make the things we do memorable? What makes our games, our ads, our experiences stand out? Two designers from San Francisco agency MINE set out on a burger-a-week tour for inspiration and insight. In a very interesting story, The Message Is Medium Rare, designers Christopher Simmons and Nathan Sharp visited chains, bars, dives, white linen restaurants and food trucks to sample each’s signature hamburger. Along the journey, they share a lot of valuable lessons on aspects of design, composition, branding, and customer service. Things important for all of us. On one hand, it’s a great reminder to slow down, and remember that inspiration is everywhere. On the other, it shows that everything we do matters, and attention to detail is all that separates good from great. If you want cliffs notes, FastcoDesign has a great write up here. Enjoy.
